  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Experience working with juvenile offenders is preferred.
  • Prior demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and coordinate youth activities.
  • Ability to complete basic course in Residential Child Care Workers within first six months of employment.
  • Ability to obtain a CPR and First Aid Card.
  • Valid Oregon drivers license with a driving record that permits coverage under the agency's corporate auto liability policy.
  • Reliable transportation.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish is preferred.

DutiesThis position works with primarily Hispanic/Latino male youth ages 12-18 in a group home setting. The on-call Group Life Worker fosters a mentoring relationship with the youth by identifying each youth's individual strengths to assist the youth in achieving goals. The GLW may facilitate skill-building groups relative to treatment plans.
This position is referred to as on-call, as hours are NOT guaranteed.

  1. Works with at-risk youth to identify strengths, issues and needs.
  2. Facilitates skill-building groups relative to treatment plans.
  3. Provides a structured, daily routine that supports public safety, personal safety, and accountability.
  4. Assists in supervising the recreational component of each youth's treatment plan.
  5. Assists with and guides youth in household duties and group home activities.
  6. Completes Behavior Rehabilitation Services Reports and documentation in a timely and accurate manner.
  7. Communicates with family members and support individuals of the youth when appropriate.
  8. Attend team meetings, which includes mandatory compensated team meetings, and participates in organizational committees or teams as directed by the Program Coordinator or the Case Manager.
  9. Stays current on latest trends recommended in the treatment and reformation of gang-affected youth.
  10. Transports youth to and from various outing, appointments, or services.
  11. Supports the Street Vision Team with assignments or duties as directed by the Program Coordinator or the Case Manager.
