| Duties | The Healthy Start Family Support Worker reports to a Healthy Start Supervisor or Director and is responsible to assist first-time parents in establishing a positive, safe home environment that promotes healthy growth and development in children. The FSW supports positive parent-child relationships by encouraging positive parent interactions, providing developmentally appropriate child development information and screenings, and research-based parenting information that promotes literacy utilizing a strengths-based approach. The FSW provides referrals and support to access community resources such as medical and social services, teaches problem-solving skills, and empowers families to pursue goals that build safe, healthy, and nurturing families.
